Solution

NI ELVISmx driver provides driver support for NI ELVIS II series and NI myDAQ hardware where NI ELVIS III Software Bundle includes the main software you need to build embedded applications for the NI ELVIS III, including LabVIEW, the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, the LabVIEW ELVIS III Toolkit, and Multisim. 

If you are using NI ELVIS II hardware, you will need to install NI ELVISmx driver. If you are using NI ELVIS III hardware, you will need to install the NI ELVIS III Software Bundle. There are no issues to install both NI ELVISmx driver and NI ELVIS III Software Bundle on the same PC.

Additional Information

Installation of the NI ELVIS III Software Bundle is not required if you want to use the Soft Front Panels (SFPs) only.
