Hardware

  • NI ELVIS III

Software

  • LabVIEW ELVIS III Toolkit
  • LabVIEW Real-Time Module

Issue Details

  • My ELVIS III device's Status LED is blinking twice indicating a software error. I have tried reinstalling the Elvis III Recommended Software Set to the Elvis III from NI MAX, but the installation failed part-way through.
  • While installing software to my ELVIS III device from NI MAX, I get the error: Miscellaneous operation failure.

Solution

  1. Restart the ELVIS III in safe mode by holding the RESET button for 5 seconds. You will know that the ELVIS III has booted into safe mode because the Status LED will blink 3 times every few seconds.
  2. Using NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (NI MAX), format the disk on the ELVIS III .
  3. After the format operation finishes, reinstall the ELVIS III recommended software set .
