Issue Details

When attempting to generate LabVIEW code from Vision Assistant, an error dialog appears and tells me that LabVIEW Code Generation functions have not been installed in my PC. How do I resolve this issue?

Solution

The Vision Assistant Support add-ons may not have been properly installed for the LabVIEW version you are using. You can easily install them via NI Package Manager.
To do this, open NI Package Manager. Under the Packages tab, look for:
  • Vision Assistant Support for LabVIEW (x-bit)
  • Vision Assistant Support for LabVIEW 20xx (x-bit)
Check the boxes for the appropriate add-on(s) and click Install.

If the Packages tab is not visible use the settings icon on the right and activate the Show available packages and feed management tools. Then disable the Prodcuts only filter to see all available packages.

Additional Information

If you do not have NI Package Manager installed in your environment, you can also install these add-ons from the NI Vision installer available online. In the "Features" section, ensure that the LabVIEW Code Generation items (and any other code generation items for relevant languages) are selected.

This problem can also be caused if you're using the incorrect bitness between the Vision Assistant and LabVIEW. If you want to generate LabVIEW 32 bit code you'll need to use the 32 bit version of Vision Assistant. The same applies to the 64 bit version.
