Issue Details

  • After I created an xml-Report with TestStand, the graphical objects are not displayed correctly when I try to open the file in my browser (see image below).
  • Which software do I need to use to open an xml-Report generated in TestStand?

Solution

  • Currently, displaying TestStand XML reports is only supported with Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can find the supported versions in the Supported Microsoft Software section of the TestStand Readme file.
  • When creating an XML report, the report is linked to a .xsl stylesheet that can be configured in the Report Options (see image below). Make sure that the according .xsl spreadsheet file (tr5_horizontal.xsl in the example below) is saved in the directory specified in the XML file. If you do not specify an absolute path the stylesheet with its dependencies need to be saved in the XLM report directory.
  • If you have a working TestStand version on another computer try copying the stylesheet from the working computer to the version that is not working. If there is not a working version then try repairing or reinstalling TestStand .
  • If you want to open the report on a computer which does not have TestStand installed, please refer to View TestStand XML Report Files without TestStand Installed  for more information on how to include the according spreadsheet file for viewing the report.
