Updated Mar 30, 2023

Reported In

Software

  • Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)

Driver

  • NI-IMAQdx

Operating System

  • Windows

Issue Details

  1. Error -1074360311 Camera not found occurs at IMAQdx Configure Acquisition.vi and similar error in NI MAX. However, the camera appears in NI MAX and I can acquire from the camera using third-party software, so I know the camera work well. Error does not occur at IMAQdx Open Camera.vi which seems strange.
  2. When I try to snap or grab an image from a camera recognized in NI MAX, I get the following error: IMAQdx Error 0xBFF69009 Camera not found. The same camera works without issues on my Windows 7 computer.

Solution

  1. When using a GigE camera, this error can occur if the NI Vision Acquisition Devices folder items in the Device Manager are not properly associated with the latest IMAQdx version installed on the computer.
    1. Open the Device Manager. The NI Vision Acquisition Devices item should be missing. The NI-IMAQdx drivers should appear as unknown devices instead.
    2. Right click the unknown devices and select Properties.
    3. Navigate to the Details tab and change the Property to Device instance path to verify these devices correspond to the NI Vision Acquisition Devices.
    4. Right-click the unknown devices in the Device Manager, and select Update Driver Software.
    5. Choose Browse my computer for driver software.
    6. Change the location to browse to C:\Programe Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx. Check the Include subfolders checkbox.
    7. The NI Vision Acquisition Devices item and NI-IMAQdx GigE Vision Drivers should show up on the Device Manger now.
