Issue Details

When I try to open a TestStand sequence file in Sequence File Viewer, I get the following error:

The file being opened is either not a valid TestStand Sequence file or is of a format which is older or newer than the version of the stylesheet. The Stylesheet supports viewing of the files saved in the TestStand 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 2010, 2010SP1, 2012, 2012 SP1, 2013 and 2014 XML format.

Solution

This error is displayed if the file is not in the supported XML format or version (TestStand 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 2010, 2010 SP1, 2012, 2012 SP1, 2013 or 2014). To save the sequence file in a supported version as an XML file, refer to View Sequence Files on a Machine Without TestStand Installed. Then, retry opening the file in Sequence File Viewer.

Additional Information

The Sequence File Viewer application was built with the purpose of viewing a sequence file without TestStand installed. Because it is only readable in older formats, there could be other issues that you may run into by using this application with newer versions of TestStand. For instance, if there is a new feature that exists within a sequence structure that wasn't present in the 2014 version, then it may not allow you to view the sequence properly.
