Which NI Real-Time Targets Support Embedded UI?

Issue Details

I have heard that certain NI Real-Time (RT) controllers support the Embedded UI feature, meaning you can host a LabVIEW user interface directly on the controller, without having to send the data back to a Windows HMI. Which RT targets support this Embedded UI feature?
 

Solution

Embedded UI is only supported for NI Linux Real-Time targets that are Intel x64 based and have a DisplayPort/Mini-DisplayPort in their front panel.

• Refer to the link below to confirm if your RT target is NI Linux Real-Time OS (Intel x64 based).
  
  • Real-Time Controllers and Real-Time Operating System Compatibility 
• If your NI Linux Real-Time target has a DisplayPort/Mini-DisplayPort, you should see the Embedded UI option under Startup Settings in NI MAX.

The hardware list below describes the NI Linux Real-Time targets that are compliant with both features:

• cRIO-903X controllers.
• cRIO-904X controllers.
• SbRIO-9609/SbRIO-9628/SbRIO-9629.
• cDAQ-913X controllers, with exception for cDAQ-9138/9139.
• PXIe-88XX controllers, with exception for PXIe-8820.

Additional Information

• Other targets with Real-Time operating system (RTOS) like Pharlap ETS and VxWorks do not support Embedded UI.
• Note that sometimes localization settings will conflict with the Embedded UI, for example you cannot use embedded UI when it's set to "Japanese"
