Solution
As the error suggests, this is the result of a bad installation, and repairing your MAX installation is recommended. To do this, go to
Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or
Control Panel>>Programs and Features (Windows 7) and select
National Instruments Software in the list.
This will open a new dialog box. In the new dialog box, select
NI Measurement & Automation Explorer from the list, and click the
Repair option on the right hand side.
Note: When running a repair, you will need to have the disk/media for the original installation available.
If the repair is unsuccessful, the next step is to run a full uninstall/reinstall of MAX. MAX is typically bundled with other NI Software and is not available as it's own download. The
System Configuration download is a good option in this case. It is highly recommended that you are logged in as an administrator when installing the software.
Note: In certain cases a
force reinstall may be warranted.
After the repair completes, restart your computer, and launch MAX to check if it works properly.
