Solution
National Instruments has found that some services reserve the HID interfaces that the USB-TC01 requires to function properly. This will cause the above error when trying to launch the InstantDAQ software application and may cause the USB-TC01 to show up incorrectly in NI MAX.
Services and programs that may cause this issue are:
- ALSTOOLS1 from Lenovo.
- SCKBAP from Lenovo.
- Accuweather Widget for Windows.
- usbmate.exe which is a service belonging to UPSilon 2000 from Bicker Elektronik GmbH. In this case, you should update your UPSilon2000 to the latest version.
If you do not have any of these programs try disabling all startup programs except those from NI. You can do this through
msconfig.exe on Windows 7 or through the Task Manager on Windows 8, 8.1, and 10.
