Issue Details

I want to change the date for Recommended Next Calibration Date in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). Is there a way to do this?

Solution

The Recommended Next Calibration Date is set to a calibration interval defined in the device specifications manual under Calibration interval. For example, the NI-6255 device specifications indicates that it has a calibration interval of 2 years.

This means that the field cannot be directly changed in MAX and is only updated when DAQmx updates the device internal calibration memory (EEPROM). Please see the EEPROM Update section in the B/E/M/S/X Series Calibration Procedure for more information.

Official documentation outlining what internal device data is and is not user accessible can be found in the Letter of Volatility of that device.

The best way to set the calibration date without actually performing an adjustment would be to run a DAQmx Initialize External Calibration VI. This can be done by following the steps in How Do I Update the Calibration Date of My Device?
