Issue Details

When I use the OAT Spectral Map VI in Colormap mode with RPM as my y axis, it displays properly in coast down mode but not in ramp up mode. In ramp up mode, it only displays a small subsection of the expected range. How do I fix this?

Solution

This likely has to do with the shape of your signal. The OAT Spectral Map expects an approximately parabolic or exponential curve. It can account for some variation or noise in the signal, but if a section of the curve is also parabolic and is too large, the map may only use that section of the curve, cutting off at the local minimum and maximum.

You can generally overcome this by breaking up your input signal into pieces with more defined curves.  The Get Waveform Subset VI is a good way to do this.
