Solution
There are a couple of common reasons that could cause this behavior, one is adding spaces to the serial or activation code, and the second is that your serial number or activation code are meant to activate a different Multisim edition or version. To solve this, please check the next steps:
- When you copy-paste a serial number you might be copying it with additional spaces at the end, if you notice there are additional spaces added, please remove them before clicking Activate, you may also prevent this by manually entering the serial number or activation code. Check if this solves your activation issue, if not check step 2.
- Make sure you installed the Multisim edition that your serial number can activate. There are two different installers for the Circuit Design Suite editions (which contains Multisim and Ultiboard) available. If you don't have the appropriate edition, please install the software using the corresponding installer:
- NI Circuit Design Suite Education Edition - and Student Edition
- NI Circuit Design Suite Power Professional- Full and Base Editions
- Also, confirm you have the right software version for your serial number for example Multisim 14.2 - if in doubt contact your software administrator to clarify.
You can verify your exact installed version in NI License Manager or in Multisim by going to Help>>About Multisim. After installing the appropriate Multisim edition and version please try your activation again, making sure you do not add any additional spaces to the serial number or activation code in the Activation Wizard.
- If you are still unable to activate your software after trying the previous steps, please contact NI Support for further assistance.
