Issue Details

  • My mouse is shrunken (Case 1)
    • I am using LabVIEW 2017 in Windows 10 on a 4K monitor and my cursor is shrunken when I am in the block diagram or the front panel. The cursor works fine in other LabVIEW menus and toolbars.

  • My mouse is enlarged (Case 2)
    • I am using LabVIEW 2018 SP1 in Windows 10 on a 4K monitor and my cursor is enlarged when I am in the block diagram or the front panel. The cursor works fine in other LabVIEW menus and toolbars.

Solution

Case 1
  • Certain high resolution computers currently experience this problem with a shrinking cursor while using LabVIEW. A bug report has been created with National Instruments R&D to further look into the issue. The Corrective Action Request (CAR) number is 677536. This bug is fixed in LabVIEW 2018 SP1 but this may still be an issue in versions older than that.
Case 2
  • Other high resolution computers experience this problem with an enlarged cursor while using LabVIEW in versions after 2018 SP1. A bug report has been created with National Instruments R&D to further look into the issue. The Corrective Action Request (CAR) number is 740315.

The following workaround can be used to stop the controller from appearing shrunken or enlarged in both cases:
  • Set the display settings to 100% scaling and 1080p resolution
  • Use a secondary lower resolution monitor for LabVIEW.
To implement this workaround, navigate to the following: Start > Settings > System > Display
