Issue Details

I see the error "This app can't run in your PC" when running LabVIEW in Windows 8 or Windows 10 or when running a built LabVIEW executable. What should I do?

Solution

Error Occurs When Running LabVIEW

  1. Uninstall the NI software from your computer.
  2. Clean the computer's cache
  3. Download and install your software again from ni.com (If you're using multiple toolkits/drivers, remember to install LabVIEW first, and secondly the add-ons you have. Failure to install in proper order might result in missing toolkits/pallets)

NOTE: It's important to download the software again from the NI website, since the media and/or download used previously might have been corrupted, causing the error to show again after repeating this process.

Error Occurs When Running a LabVIEW Executable

  • Ensure that the bitness of the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine that the executable was built in, is compatible with the bitness of the operating system. For example, if you have an executable built in 64-bit LabVIEW, it will not be able to run on a 32-bit Operating System or on the 32-bit LabVIEW Run-Time Engine and you'll encounter an error

Additional Information

Sometimes the installer media gets corrupted (either in the download or in the decompression processes), resulting in a bad installation of the software.  This makes Windows 10 errors popup. Clearing the computer's cache, as well as repeating the download and install steps helps to avoid a corrupted installation.
The behavior might happen when calling a specific action (as opening a project), and not necessarily when the software starts up.
