Do Firmware Updates in PXI Cards Affect LabVIEW Code?

Issue Details

I've had my cards for a very long time. I'm testing out my LabVIEW code with my hardware and now it's not working.
  • Could there be a reset or update to the firmware on my PXI cards that would cause this issue?
  • How do I check which version of firmware is currently on my PXI cards?

Solution

DAQmx Drivers will automatically push firmware onto DAQ cards. This is the only way the firmware would be modified on the cards and the firmware on the cards are not user accessible.

The issue could be that there was a DAQmx update pushed onto the PXI cards that is no longer compatible with LabVIEW. Check this compatibility chart and make sure the new DAQmx update is compatible with LabVIEW. Then download the correct driver version.
