Issue Details

I'm seeing voltage spikes and incorrect data on a 6343 card that previously worked fine. I can swap it out for a different card and change computers, but I still see the voltage spikes. I've arranged my channels so channels with similar voltage values are adjacent, e.g., my highest voltage levels are read first, then my middle valued voltage levels, then my lowest voltage levels. The voltage spikes show up randomly, on different channels, with different voltage values.

Self tests of the card work fine. When I try to open up a test panel in MAX, I can only take a low number of samples before receiving error -200279, with a sampling and read rate that should be fine for my card.

Solution

Some security or update software has been seen to interfere with bus traffic on computers.
  1. Check if you or your IT department installed or pushed new security software to your computer near the time the card began performing irregularly.
  2. If so, uninstall the software and see if the behavior continues.
  3. Talk with your IT department about options to either use a different security software or configure the software to allow the PCI bus traffic.
