The Installer Is Copied From a Larger Installer and Is Missing the Common Directory

Issue Details

While running the installer, I get the error The installer seems to be copied from a larger installer, and is missing the "C:\Temp\TestDistro\CVI\Common\Products\" directory. To get more information, visit ni.com/info and enter the Info Code "exazb9". How can I resolve this error?

Solution

There are two ways to resolve this error.
  1. Recommended solution is to use the NI Batch Installer Builder to create the sharable distribution. This will ensure all the necessary unique and common components are automatically included in the installer.
  2. When sharing a distribution from a suite, include the common folder along with the distribution folder.

Additional Information

The common folder contains common components between all distributions which is necessary for a successful installation. The common folder must be copied to the same relative path to the distribution folder as it was in the suite. That is, if the Common folder was located three directories above the distribution installer in the suite, then it must still be three directories above the distribution when it is copied elsewhere.
