Where can I find a list of error code ranges for NI drivers?

Solution

Text files containing error codes specific to NI software can be found in the following locations:
  • For drivers and development packages, navigate to:
National Instruments\Shared\Errors
  • For Modular Instrument drivers, such as NI-SCOPE and NI-DMM, multiple language versions can be found in driver-specific folders located in:
 National Instruments\Shared\MIerrors


The driver-specific text files contain error codes arranged in order, and thus you can get the ranges for each driver.

Additional Information

Because error codes are continually added to NI software a comprehensive list of error code ranges is not maintained, with the exception of LabVIEW. When you install NI software like drivers and development packages a text file containing error codes specific to that software is installed on your system.
