How Do I Synchronize Multiple DAQmx Tasks in Measurement & Automation Explorer?

Updated Apr 4, 2023

Issue Details

I have two or more different DAQmx tasks that I want to synchronize and run together in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). Can I do this?

Solution

No, MAX is not able to do multiple task synchronization. Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) is a utility for accessing, configuring, diagnosing, and running single tasks on your National Instruments hardware. With MAX, you select the type of task you want to perform and the device with which you want to perform that task. It is not a programming utility.

Additional Information

MAX only allows you to perform one type of task at a time. You can, however, access multiple channels on one device for a single task, as long as all the channels are performing the same task.

LabVIEW, however is able to perform multiple synchronized tasks. For more information on how to synchronize multiple tasks in LabVIEW, see the M Series Synchronization with LabVIEW and NI-DAQ™mx.
