Error -200077 or Grayed Out Terminal Configuration Modes in NI MAX when using NI 9201

  • NI-9201

Issue Details

Why is it that when I try to select a terminal configuration mode for the NI 9201 using NI-DAQmx in NI MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer), the Differential, Pseudodifferential, and NSRE Terminal Configuration modes are grayed out?

Similarly wiring an unsupported terminal configuration into the DAQmx Create Channel.vi gives Error -200077: Requested Value is not a supported value for this property. The AI.TermCfg property value may be invalid because it conflicts with another property.

Solution

This occurs because the NI 9201 only supports referenced single-ended (RSE) measurements. Therefore, the DAQmx driver automatically grays out the differential, non-referenced single-ended (NRSE) and pseudodifferential modes.
