Unexpected Licensing Error Message After Installing LabVIEW

Issue Details

I installed LabVIEW 2016 on my computer but get the error message: Unexpected Licensing Error upon launching the program. I cannot find NI License Manager (NILM) on my computer.

Solution

This error may appear when NILM has not been installed on your computer. The latest version of NILM can be downloaded and installed separately from other NI software. Follow these steps:

  1. Ensure NILM is installed. 
    • If it is not installed, download and install the License Manager from the website. It is recommended to install the latest version of NILM that is compatible with your computer operating system.
  2. Activate your software according to your license type by referring to the License Setup and Activation.
  3. Make sure that all the required add-ons for your application have been activated.
