Issue Details

I want to install the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit so I can execute models in LabVIEW, but I cannot find a public installer on the NI website for my desired version of the toolkit. How can I install this toolkit?

Solution

VeriStand 2019 and Later

Starting with 2019 software, the primary distribution method for both VeriStand and the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit moved from installers to packages. When this change was implemented, the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit package became a stand-alone package separate from VeriStand. To install this toolkit, simply locate it in NI Package Manager as in the image below, or download it from the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit Download page.

VeriStand 2018 SP1 and Earlier

In older versions of the software, the primary distribution method for the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit was through the VeriStand installer. Complete the below steps to install this toolkit:

  1. Launch the corresponding version of the VeriStand installer, which is available at both the VeriStand Download page and in the form of physical media.
  2. When the installer initializes, press Next.
  3. On the User Information step, select the Install NI VeriStand 20xx Evaluation - Serial number not required option, and press Next.
  4. On the Destination Directory step, make no changes and press Next.
  5. On the Features step, simply make the selections outlined in the image below to install the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit without installing VeriStand.

Additional Information

When the installation is complete, you will need to activate the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit in NI License Manager or using the NI Licensing Wizard.

Note: When attempting to download VeriStand 2019 or later from the VeriStand Download page, this will actually download a .nipkg file that installs via NI Package Manager and is equivalent to the package available natively within NI Package Manager. When attempting to download VeriStand 2018 SP1 and earlier, this will download an installer that includes options for VeriStand, the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit, options for Model Generation, and the UI Manager.
