Volume Licensed LabVIEW 2017 Splash Screen Displays Unregistered

This usually occurs when LabVIEW 2017 is installed via the Volume License Installer.

Issue Details

When launching software installed via Volume License Installer, the splash screen displays "Unregistered". 

Solution

This behavior is cosmetic, and does not affect the licensing and execution of LabVIEW. To remove it, follow the steps below
  1. Open NI License Manager
  2. Initiate the activation of any NI software
  3. Log into your NI.com account when prompted
  4. Exit the activation process while remaining logged in

Additional Information

This occurs because NI License Manager does not prompt the user the log in, when installing via Volume License Installer. NI Software uses the NI License Manger API to obtain user information. Thus, if this field is not populated, the value "Unregistered" is displayed instead.
