Issue Details

How do I tell which protocol my USB camera is using, when connected to my computer via a USB port?

Solution

  1. Use NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX)
  2. Look at the symbol next to the entry of the device under Devices and Interfaces
  3. Refer to the table below to determine the protocol
 
The device is detected as a USB3 Vision Camera
The device is detected as a USB camera using DirectShow
