Issue Details

When I start TestStand the following error message pops up:
The program can't start because mfc140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

Solution

This error occurs because one of the software components (DLL files) needed for TestStand to run was not installed along with TestStand. The mfc140.dll file is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC package.

To resolve the issue:
  1. Download the package from Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC.
  2. Install the package by running the downloaded .exe file.
If the issue is resolved after following the above steps it is not necessary to reinstall TestStand.
