Issue Details

  • My RIO device has the warning "features not available" next to it in my LabVIEW Project Explorer.
  • I am able to see my device and target in LabVIEW and NI MAX
  • When trying to open the main VI in my project, LabVIEW requests for different VIs and libraries that are already located in the computer, and I can open it correctly in another Windows profile on the same computer.

Solution

This message appears next to the RIO device if the software required to program your RIO is not installed and activated on your computer. Follow these steps to troubleshoot this message:
  • Check NI MAX to see if the LabVIEW Real-Time Module is installed on the host computer. You can check that it is installed and the version by following these instructions: Determine the Version of the NI Software Installed on My Computer.
  • Verify that the LabVIEW Real-Time module is activated using NI-License Manager
  • Verify that all installed software is compatible with the device and the version of LabVIEW being used. LabVIEW Real-Time Module and LabVIEW FPGA Module should be the same year as the version of LabVIEW you're using.
