Issue Details

I would like to use a remote computer to compile my FPGA VIs created with the LabVIEW FPGA Module. Do I need a separate LabVIEW license on the remote computer?

Solution

LabVIEW 8.5.1 and earlier:

Using a computer as a remote LabVIEW FPGA Compile Server with LabVIEW FPGA version 8.5.1 or earlier does not require a separate LabVIEW license. You do not need to activate a license after installing the LabVIEW FPGA Compile Server.

LabVIEW 8.6 and later:
  1. Open National Instruments License Manager.
  2. Select the corresponding version of LabVIEW.
  3. Select Modules.
  4. Right click LabVIEW FPGA Module and select Activate.
  5. Use the serial number for your LabVIEW FPGA Module Development environment to activate the compile server.
Note: By default, the compile server is installed with a 30 day evaluation license.
