Undefined Error 1074384538 When Connecting to My DAQ Hardware

Issue Details

My LabVIEW program previously worked. Then, we had a power outage. Now, it's not detecting my device. When I run the program I get an undefined error 1074384538. Additionally, when I try to open NI MAX, it will sometimes freeze.


The mostly likely cause of this issue is corruption of your system's software. There are a few options for fixing this:
  1. Reset your NI MAX Configuration Data: What Is the Process for Resetting the MAX Database?
  2. Repair your National Instruments Software:Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software or Drivers in Windows
  3. If the repair doesn't work, you can do a forced reinstall: Force Reinstall NI Software from the Command Prompt in Windows

The software corruption, in this case, likely occurred during the power outage when the system was shut down improperly. This is fairly common outcome of an improper shutdown. Generally the corruption is minor, but it can be serious and in some cases require you to reformat your system.
