  • DIAdem

Issue Details

After installing DIAdem and rebooting my machine, I see an error message stating that the DataFinder cannot start due to an internal error:

Also, if I attempt to start DIAdem, I see the following error message displayed stating the data organization returned an initialization error:

Solution

  • Rename storetypes.usiconfig in this directory:
Windows 10/Windows 7/Windows Vista
C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\Shared\USI\Config

Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\Shared\USI\Config

After renaming storetypes.usiconfig, DIAdem will recreate the file, and you should no longer see the above error messages.

Additional Information

These error messages indicate that one of the configuration files for the NI Universal Storage Interface (USI) has became corrupted. These can be replaced by a Force Reinstall, or by DIAdem auto-generating them if they are not in the expected location.

NI dropped support for older Windows versions, such as Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, in May 2021. For further details on this you can refer to NI Support for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, and All 32-Bit Windows .
