NI Measurement & Automation Explorer Frozen After Clicking on Devices and Interfaces

Issue Details

National Instruments Measurement and Automation Explorer (NI-MAX) freezes and says Searching and Not Responding after I click Devices and Interfaces.
An image of the behavior I am seeing is shown below. How do I fix this?


Try the following troubleshooting steps:
  • Remove and reconnect to your network connection:
  1. Remove your wired network connection
  2. Reconnect your wired network connection
  3. Close and reopen NI-MAX
  4. You should now be able to properly select "Devices and Interfaces" within NI-MAX
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact National Instruments Support.

NI-MAX may be searching for a device over your network, which is the reason that it is stuck "searching."
