Issue reported on Windows 7/8.1/10 64-bit

Issue Details

I have a legacy PXI/PCI-5102 digitizer device and I would need to upgrade computer operating system.
Is my device supported on 64-bit Windows versions?

Solution

The PCI/PXI-5102 digitizer is not supported on any 64-bit operating systems, i.e. it is not supported on Windows 7/8.1/10 64-bit. However, it is supported on 32-bit versions of these operating systems.

The PCI/PXI-5102 are supported and can be programmed using NI-SCOPE driver. At low-level, for these devices, the driver is dependent on legacy NI-DAQ (Traditional DAQ driver), which is no longer maintained by NI and doesn't offer 64-bit support.

If you are required to use Windows 7/8.1/10 64-bit, then you will need to upgrade your hardware and adopt newer digitizers/oscilloscopes: in this case, NI-SCOPE driver is relying on the NI-DAQmx driver, which provides 64-bit operating system support. You can refer to Oscilloscopes category page for further information and product specifications.

Additional Information

You can download NI-SCOPE driver here

To find which NI-SCOPE version to download, please check NI Hardware and Software Operating System Compatibility and NI-Scope and LabVIEW Compatibility tables.

In general, you can check if your hardware is supported in a specific version of NI-SCOPE driver by looking at the related readme file.

Please note that if you installed NI-SCOPE 17.1.x driver on Windows 8/7/Vista 32-bit, you also need to install Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) 7.5  since NI-SCOPE 17.1.x installer does not include this dependency (which is needed to correctly detect legacy devices such as PCI/PXI-5102). Previous versions on NI-SCOPE also install all the required dependencies.
