Issue Details

I have LabVIEW already, but how do I talk to my Modbus TCP PLC?

Solution

Once you have LabVIEW installed there are a couple software options to choose from:

1. LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module (DSC)
  • This is our supported software module that can be purchased to perform Modbus communication, OPC communication, Historical Logging, and more in LabVIEW.
  • If you use aspects of DSC in your project and would like to deploy the project to an EXE, then the DSC Run-Time Engine will be required and is purchasable.
2. LabVIEW Modbus API (Unsupported)
  • This is not an official NI Product and is not supported by National Instruments, however it is a potential community available option to control modbus devices through LabVIEW.
