The description of the LED behavior of the PXI(e) MXI-Express card will depend on your specific device model. Refer to the user manual for your MXI-Express controller to determine the LED description, then follow the troubleshooting steps below depending on the case.

No Power

Make sure the PXI(e) MXI-Express card is securely seated in the PXI(e) chassis.

Power is out of spec

Check the PXI(e) chassis LEDs. If there are any hardware errors, refer to PXI/PXI Chassis Power LED Blinking or Solid Red to resolve them.
Test with a different PXI(e) MXI-Express card.

Power is within spec; no link to chassis/link not established

Ensure both PCI(e) and PXI(e) MXI-Express cards are properly seated and powered in the computer and chassis slots.
Make sure the cable is connected correctly.
If you are using an MXI-Express fiber cable, make sure the cable is inserted in the correct host and target orientation and that you have moved the Constant Frequency Clock (CFC) switch to ON .
Test with a different cable between the PCI(e) and PXI(e) MXI-Express cards.

LINK LED on the MXI card is solid red

This means there is an internal hardware error where the bridge cannot connect to the SMBus, even when the cable is connected. Contact NI Support .
