Solution
To enable the debug log:
For VLM 2.1 and Later:
The debug log is always enabled for versions 2.1 and later.
For VLM 2.0 and Previous:
To enable the debug log from NI VLM, go to Options » Preferences » Policies and check Enable Debug Log. You must enable this option and then click Apply Changes or Start License Server before this feature will work.
The debug log file can be viewed from any text editor and can be found at:
- Windows XP/Server 2003: <Program Files>\National Instruments\Shared\License Manager\Bin\lmgrd.log
- Windows Vista/7/10/11/Server 2008 and later: <ProgramData>\National Instruments\License Manager\Data\lmgrd.log
