Can't connect DIAdem to DataFinder Server

Issue Details

I'm trying to connect to our DataFinder Server to DIAdem. I can ping the server but the connection times out when testing the loaded configuration in DataFinder. How can I fix the connection problem?

Solution

This problem is due to the firewall blocking the ports in which DataFinder uses. There are 2 options to get around the problem:

Option 1

  • Install DataFinder Server Edition. This adds the permission to the firewall rules to connect DIAdem or other DataFinder clients to a DataFinder server.

  • If you do not wish to install DataFinder, you can configure the firewall settings manually.
