PXIe-8238 or PXIe-8240 Is Not Detected in RT System

Issue Details

I am trying to use the PXIe-8238 or 8240 Ethernet Module with a PXI RT controller. However, I do not see the module listed under the target in NI-MAX. There are also no additional ethernet adapters detected in the system network settings. 

Is PXIe-8238/PXIe-8240 supported in RT? If yes, what drivers do I need to install into the RT target?

Solution

If the PXI controller is running NI Linux RT, you need to install the Linux drivers for the Intel Ethernet controller in order to detect the PXIe-8238/40.  
The module is not supported in Pharlap RTOS.

PXIe-8238 and PXIe 8240 are only officially supported in Windows. To have PXIe-8238/8240 running in Windows, the following software is required:
