Could you provide me information about image stitching with LabVIEW?

Solution

  1. Image Stitching:
Image stitching is the process of combining multiple photographic images with overlapping fields of view to produce a segmented panorama or high-resolution image. Stitching of images taken from a single imaging source is a common requirement in various domains such as medical, web-based inspection, automotive and surveillance.
  1. Full Workflow:
In computer vision and image processing, there are many algorithms for Image stitching. A typical process involves multiple stages. Feature Detection, Feature Description, Feature Matching, Homography Calculation, and Image Blending. This comprises the full workflow.
  1. Calibration based approach:
For fixed relative camera positions full workflow is not required all the time. We can perform Calibration which comprises of the above mentioned workflow till homography computation. The homography information thus computed can be used to stitch images using just blending.
