Issue Details

I have a PXI 7852R, and I need to pull the bitfile off of it. I no longer have access to the source code. Is this possible, and if so, how?

Solution

If you deployed your code by flashing directly to the FPGA, it will be stored on the nonvolatile memory, and be inaccessible. You can see on this link under Figure 10, that it states:
A user can then add one or more specific bitfiles located on the local hard drive to be saved with the retrieved image.  Note that this bitfile must be found on the local hard drive because it cannot be retrieved from the FPGA flash directly.

Thus, you cannot retrieve a bitfile from the nonvolatile memory of an R-Series' FPGA.
