Issue Details

My current application requires more slot than was is currently available to me on my current cDAQ chassis. Is there a way for me to expand the chassis so that I can add more modules?

Solution

Here are the options available:
  • You can expand your application to include another cDAQ chassis for more slots.
  • If you are using a CompactDAQ system with an embedded controller, such as the cDAQ-913x (which are now legacy), you can connect a USB or Ethernet cDAQ directly to your cDAQ controller and be able to access the slots on the secondary chassis.
  • Depending on the requirement, you can also opt for the 14-slot cDAQ-9179, which is National Instrument's largest slot chassis.

Additional Information

If you need the two chassis to be synchronized, use the NI 9469  to route trigger and clock signals between the chassis.
