Issue Details

I am interested in the total accuracy when combining a thermocouple-ready connector block, like the SCB-68A, with a National Instruments Multifunction DAQ card. I would like this accuracy in units of temperature, not voltage.

Solution

Calculating the absolute accuracy for the system involves calculating accuracy for each individual component and then combining those results. This calculation, due to the fact that a MIO card is not designed for temperature input, would be in units of voltage accuracy. This value cannot be converted to units of temperature accurately.

Additional Information

Connector blocks with CJC capability will have a temperature sensor accuracy specification. Consult the user manual for your device to get this value, as it provides a good estimation of overall accuracy.
