NI MAX Frozen at Splash Screen

Issue Details

I recently recently reset the NI MAX database file in an attempt to rediscover my devices, but now NI MAX stops during bootup at the splash screen at "Loading plug-ins":


  1. Repair the NI MAX software, which is included in NI System Configuration .
  2. Uninstall NI MAX software and install it again. If you encounter the Error 1921, follow these steps
  3. If the repair is not successful, perform a force reinstall of NI System Configuration.

Additional Information

You can also reinstall or upgrade the version of NI MAX, by installing a newer version of NI drivers like NI-DAQmx or NI-VISA
