NI MAX Frozen at Splash Screen

Issue Details

I recently Reset and Fixed the NI Measurement & Automation Explorer Database File in an attempt to rediscover my devices. Now NI MAX stops during bootup at the splash screen while "Loading plug-ins".



  1. Repair the NI MAX software, which is included in NI System Configuration. If the software was not installed using NI Package Manager, please repair the software from Programs and Features .
  2. Uninstall NI MAX software and install it again. If you encounter Error 1921, follow the steps from Error 1921 When Installing or Uninstalling NI Software.
  3. If the repair is not successful, force reinstall NI System Configuration.

Additional Information

You can also reinstall or upgrade the version of NI MAX, by installing a newer version of NI drivers (e.g. NI-DAQmx or NI-VISA).
