Issue Details

I'm calling an ActiveX toolkit in LabVIEW. This toolkit makes external connections to another process/computer/database. When I make a lot of connections in a row, I seem to be getting overflow errors. How do I fix this?

Solution

There are a couple of different things to check when you begin to see a memory leak while working with ActiveX.

First, you'll want to ensure that you are closing ActiveX references when you are finished with them by calling the Close Reference function.

Next, if you are making your ActiveX calls correctly within LabVIEW, but you are still seeing memory problems, you are likely missing calls of the toolkit you're working with, or there may be an error in the toolkit. We recommend contacting the toolkit provider in this case.
