Issue Details

I'm using NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) to set up a system and can't get more 3.2V from the digital output from my USB DAQ device. How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Solution

Check the user manual for your device for its default digital output mode. Some devices have a default digital output mode of Active Drive, while others have a default mode of Open Collector. This will affect the digital voltage level output by the device.

Refer to this document to learn more about the difference between these two modes, and how to change between them on your device. It may be necessary to use an external pull-up resistor or voltage source to reach a 5V digital output.

It is not possible to configure this setting in NI MAX.
