Issue Details

While attempting to install LabVIEW 2017 SP1 Full/Professional for macOS using the USB that was provided, I get an "image not recognized" error when trying to open the installer.

Solution

Some files on the LabVIEW 2017 SP1 for macOS USB are unable to be opened due to the file system used to format the USB. The incompatibility is specific to macOS, and other operating systems are able to read files from this file system without error.

If you have SSP, the LabVIEW 2017 SP1 Full and Professional Development Systems for macOS are available for download. Follow the steps in this KB to register your serial number with SSP to your account.

If USB media is required,
  1. Insert the provided USB into a Windows or Linux machine
  2. Copy all files from the provided USB
  3. Place the copied files on an 8 GB or larger USB formatted as FAT32
  4. Run the installer from the FAT32 USB on your Mac
You can also copy the files to a network location that is accessible by your Mac and run the installer from the network location.

If these steps fail to properly install LabVIEW 2017 SP1, please contact NI.
