Install Compact RIO Drivers without LabVIEW on PC

Issue Details

  • How can I install the RIO device drivers onto my hardware without having LabVIEW installed on my PC?
  • I need to deploy my LabVIEW project to a compactRIO-9033, is there a way to install only the driver required to connect to a specific compactRIO without installing the whole driver package? What is the minimal installation to save memory? 

Solution

LabVIEW and LabVIEW Real-Time are required on your PC to install these drivers onto your real-time hardware via NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). 
  • This LabVIEW Software stack  (and other appropriate drivers used in your application such as LabVIEW FPGA Module) is necessary to deploy your project onto the real-time hardware such as the compactRIO.

Additional Information

You can use the Replication and Deployment (RAD) Utility to put a pre-made image onto your RIO device however. If you cannot create an image yourself please contact NI for help.
