Issue Details

I program a VI using event structure with the mouse event in a CompatRIO. But the data stream is broken, and the VI loses some data. Could I use mouse event in the RT with losing no data?

Solution

Although the RT VI is running continuous, it is a need to display data or transfer commands through the front panels. You can use event structure in the RT VI, but not all the UI interaction events fit for the RT. You can interact with the front panels of RT target VIs using the host computer, using the embedded UI on the RT target, or using remote front panels to access RT target VIs. Using the Embedded UI to Access RT Target VIs (Real-Time Module).

When you need to catch up mouse state frequently, the better way is that transfer the data from RT to the host. Then you can use mouse event in the host VI to guarantee the real-time capability of RT is still useful. Part 6: Displaying RT Data on the User Interface (Real-Time Module)
