Issue Details

Which NI-XNET devices have a software-controlled termination of the CAN bus?

Solution

NI-XNET devices feature software selectable bus termination for High-Speed CAN transceivers. On the PXI-8512, PCI-8512, PCI-8513 (in high-speed mode), or PXI-8513 (in high-speed mode), you can enable 120 Ω termination resistors between CAN_H and CAN_L through an API call. The PXIe-8510 is an NI-XNET device card, and also has a CAN termination property that configures the onboard termination of the NI-XNET CAN connector (port).

If the termination property is set to off, the termination is disabled. If the termination property is set to on, a 120 Ω termination is enabled.
