Issue Details

I have been using a third-party add-on software package with LabVIEW 2016 and recently upgraded to LabVIEW 2019. Now when I try to use the third-party software in LabVIEW it does not work.

Solution

After upgrading LabVIEW versions, you may need to reinstall any third-party add-on packages for your new version of LabVIEW. The unexpected behavior may stem from compatibility or installation issues.
  • Your add-on may not be compatible with the later version of LabVIEW. Verify the requirements of the add-on in VI Package Manager (VIPM)
    1. Launch VIPM
    2. Search for your third-party software
    3. Right-click on the software and select Get Info.
    4. Review the requirements for the software and make sure they are met.
      1. If requirements are met, proceed to uninstalling and reinstalling the add-on
      2. If requirements are not met, install a compatible version of the add-on if one is available.
  • Installation of the new version of LabVIEW may have caused an incomplete linking of the add-on. Reinstall the third-party software add-on from VI Package Manage for your new version of LabVIEW so that the add-on is linked to this version.

Additional Information

If there is an issue with the third-party add-on software itself, contact the providers of the software. NI does not support the performance of the third-party add-on.
