Issue Details

I'm using a PROFINET Slave Module (cRIO-PN-S module) and I want to update my hardware to the cRIO-904x or cRIO-905x. Is the PROFINET Slave Module also compatible with the cRIO-904x/905x?

Solution

Yes, the cRIO-PN-S module is compatible with the new cRIO-904x and cRIO-905x controllers with version 4.0.0.2 of the cRIO PROFINET driver.
You can search for cRIO PN Device on JKI VI Package Manager and download version 4.0.0.2, released by KUNBUS GmbH, as shown in the image below.

The module will show up as unsupported during auto-detection of the chassis and modules. However, adding the module to the cRIO FPGA target manually will allow you to develop and deploy as normal.

Additional Information

To manually add a module to the FPGA target rather than auto-discover, navigate to the FPGA target, right-click and press 'New -> C Series Module'. Select to add a 'New target or device' and select 'C Series Module'. Navigate to the 'cRIO-PN-S' module and select the correct slot location. Press 'OK'.
